According to the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, there will be a mountaineering competition, a cycling invitational and a camp music festival at the Baimian Mountain, which make it a good destination for tourists to spend their Valentine’s Day. The China Sports Lottery Six Famous Mountains Climbing Tournament (Bamian Mountain station) will be launched on August 10.
Bamian Mountain, located in the southern part of Longshan County, has an average altitude of over 1,200 meters and an average summer temperature of only over 20 degrees Celsius. There are many magical and magnificent scenic spots on the mountain. With flat terrain and abundant grass, and herds of horses, cows, and sheep, it is known as a “pearl of Southern China’s grasslands” and a natural barrier from Hunan to the Eastern Chongqing.
This competition will consist of mountaineering and hiking groups. With 13.6km of the mountaineering track, participants will start from the Liye Qin Slips Museum, climb up the mountain all the way, and finally reach Yijiabao Ancient Village. With about 10.2km of the hiking route, hikers will walk along a trail, pass through Changsha Street, Liye Ancient Town Ruins, the moat, and the water roller, and finally arrive at Liye Qin Slips Museum.
After the mountaineering competition, the 5th Tent Music Festival of Bamian Mountain in 2024 will be held at 19:00 on August 10. According to the organizing committee, there will be a romantic fireworks show, and singers and bands, such as You Hongming, Dai Yutong, Wanshiwu Band, and Mishizhen Band, will be invited to present their performances on the site.
In addition, the 2024 “Beautiful Xiangxi: Cycling on the Cloud” Bicycle Invitational will be launched from August 10 to 12. During this period, a children’s balance bike race will be held on August 10, a speed race will be held on August 11, with the course starting from Liye Qin Slips Museum and ending at Rebala Scenic Area, and a hill climbing competition will kick off on August 12, with participants setting off from Liye Qin Slips Museum and arriving at Bamian Mountaintop Parking Lot. The cycling skills of the athletes will be tested and their physical strength and endurance will also be challenged.
